Hey folks Austin here and it’s time for another Weekly SEO Recap (April Fools Prank Edition).
April Fools is taken pretty seriously among internet marketers, and especially here at Clicks and Clients. We personally pranked all of our clients, which I’m sure we’ll have a post up about it soon. So what happened around the web on April fools? Well if you missed it don’t worry I’ve got the best April Fools Pranks below from our fellow SEO-geeks.
You’ll Cry Tears of Joy When You Learn how Easy Viral Videos Can Be
This funny prank promises gullible internet marketers that Moz has found the “secret” to creating a viral video. They created a little tool called “Moz Worthy” which allows you to insert your video URL and “instantaneously” improve your social shares. It does add the MOZ robot to your video and spoof up your video’s title with more viral wording. It’s a fun little thing and probably the best prank so far.

- It’s April Fools there are Negatives!
Google announce the SEO friendly way to link

That’s right if you have a friend’s website and you want your link to their page to count as twice then all you have to do is rel=”counts-twice”. Funny stuff folks

Matt Cutts: Google Plus To Receive Manual Penalty
Matt Cutts, though rightfully cracking down on the spam of the SEO world, is sometimes an internet dictator. So when a recent April Fools prank announced that Matt Cutts was giving a manual penalty to the Google+ team I just couldn’t contain my laughter. The post claims that the subdomain had achieved a page rank of 11, outside of the possible range, and to fix the problem Google either had to completely rework their algorithmn, or simply give Google Plus a manual penalty.

- Some what believable scenario
- Funny retribution feeling.
